I am getting to many emails from potential customers that looking to hire our service. As many would like, they want to be ranking high for a given keywords but some don’t have the money to pay for search engine optimization (SEO). People are looking for Web site search engine optimization but affordable SEO. Most of the time the answer I give is simple: Do it yourself.

SEO its not something complex to learn. I actually launched this blog in order to demonstrate to many skeptical that SEO can be done using some simple tools and software. If you will read some of my previous posts you will find software like SEO Elite, WEB CEO, Free Directory Submitter and more.

There are some great ebooks on the web that will help you to get a great a understating about web site search engine optimization. You will find some free ebooks on my blog. Start with “Search Engine Optimization Made Easy“. It will give a good stating point about SEO.

No matter how you will look at it, there are plenty of ways to promote your website in affordable way, or as you like to say “Affordable SEO”. If you are serious about your website and willing to spend few hours a day to learn search engine optimization techniques, there is not reasonable reason that your website will not find it way to the top of the search engine results pages.

Do not hesitate. Start today with your SEO efforts. It will pay at the end !

Google is doing the best with their filterers so webmasters will not be able to affect the search results page artificially. At the same time webmasters are looking for more and more creative ways to get more and more back links to their website. You will find lots of webmasters and companies that are offering to post about your website in their blog or to place your link on their website. Some of them are charging a decent amount of money while some will give that service for much less.

As I already mentioned it in the past, it’s better to get a link back to your website from a relevant website. You will find that it’s not that easy to find relevant websites. Especially, if you are own a niche website that is not so popular.

Lately I cam a cross a nice website that offering to review your website design. The name of the website is the same as the website URL address: website design reviews (http://www.website-design-reviews.com). Why do I talk about design review service in a SEO website? Simple: it’s a great way to get a one way link on a page that was created especially based on your website theme.

If someone is writing a review about your website design most likely that he will use some of the keywords that best describe your website theme. If you get a back link form that kind of a page than its worth allot!

More than that, you have a page on another website that you can individually promote as well. Why do you ask? Again, simple: if someone digg your website they will be probably be happy to digg that page as well. Doing so will give not just a back link but another great source of traffic. Yep, both from social bookmaking and search engines results page.

If you will Google for website review service you will find several companies that offer it. You will find that this service is not cheep comparing to a single link that can be purchased online for ~3$/month. Website Design Reviews website offer the same service for only $14.95. Its a great price given the fact that this is a permanent link to your website.

So…. You have a great way to get a review to your website (traffic) and on the same time get a cheep back link to it as well. That way I doubt if anyone will blame you that you bought links

I am using SEO Elite to check the back links for every single website that I own. Well… I own more the one website, actually I own many websites. I am using SEO Elite for this task. With one click I can check who is linking to my website, what anchor text they are using and what its IP address.

In my last post I wrote about the “nofollow” attribute. If your website back link contain the “nofollow” attribute then this link weight is not worth much. One of the coolest features that SEO Elite report provide is the ability to see for every back link if it has a “nofollow” link. Take a look at the screen shot below. Its a report for one of my website. You can see that its has lots of back links and you can see that some of them (unfortunately ) has the “nofollow” attribute. More then that, using this report I can get information whether this link is still valid.

In my previews post I introduced a new software that automated part of the directory submissions process. The idea is simple: submit your website to many directories  and get one way links for free.

On that matter allow me to bring to your attention something very important. Some of the directories owners are using the “nofollow” attributes within the <a> tag (The <a> tag defines an anchor.). If your website appear in such a directory, the link to your website get no credit. In another word, there is no point to submit your website to such kind of directories assuming that you would like to improve your website ranking.

How can you know if a directory owner is using the “nofollow” attribute. The simple way is by looking at the website source code. However, this could take some time and effort, especially if you are submitting your website to large number of directories.

I am using a nice Firefox extension that give the option to highlight nofollow links. This extension, developed by Craig Raw, is a must for those who are dealing with SEO. It has several others features beside the option to highlight nofollow links.

After you will install it take a look at the right bottom corner of your Firefox

Right Click on the @ icon and mark the “Highlight the nofollow links” options.

Now… every page that you will visit, all the nofollow links will be highlighted.
